There are so many people we'd love to thank for helping out this Christmas! We received over $4000 in Wal-mart gift cards from all over the US to give to needy families on the rez! It is a wonderful way to encourage folks here and to share the love of Christ with them. People's eyes get wide and mouths drop open when I explain where the gift cards came from! I assure them that people all over the country are praying for them and their community! Thanks for making all of this possible by your prayer, support, generocity, and love!
We want to mention:
Rex and Sandra Zack who provided and cooked elk and salmon for 350+ people at the feast! First Evangelical Presbyterian of Renton, WA for sending 60-70 handmade quilts (we had exactly the right number down to the last person!), 10 gallons of potato salad, and a great team of ten folks to help serve the meal. Faith Bible Church in Seattle provided the desserts. Faith Presbyterian Church in Tacoma sent 300 gifts, ham, turkey, and four folks to help give out the gifts. New Life Church of Holland, MI sent gifts. Grace United Reformed Church of Kennewick, WA sent food and gifts. Garber Methodist Church sent fleece blankets. Covenant Presbyterian Church of Issaquah, WA sent many blankets, coats, and $2000 for Wal-mart cards! Our good friends Bruce and Linda Farrant (MNA coordinators for church planting in Native America) came from Tennessee to help for the week prior to the feast. Kerrin Molton brought some of our regular helpers from Bethel Church in Richland, WA.
By the way, check out Bruce and Linda Farrant’s blog when you can to learn more about Native American church planting efforts throughout the nation and in Canada at www.OneChurchOneTribe.com.
I’m afraid I’ve left some folks out! I need Mary and Veronica with me now to help compile an accurate list but I don’t have them here! Thanks so much for all your help and prayers!
Merry Christmas!
